…!! Total Chaos !!…

“Small Things!!”

I was chatting with a close friend today.

Some how the conversation moved to.. how we wanted to change the world, do something to help others and then feel helpless as we are too caught up in our own world. Our own pressures, desires, people around us engulf us so much that we get lost in that. We have also not reached a level when we are willing to give up all our ‘attachments to maya‘ yet.

At the pace the world is moving, we are constantly evaluating our time and how to optimize it in the best possible manner to fulfill all our desires and ego. In the process, we end up not doing some of things we really wanted to do and end up doing some of the stuff which we really don’t care about. Stuff we would not do if there was no peer pressure, if there were different measures for success in our society, if there were not as many responsibilities one has to take up for the sake of keeping a face.

Time never seems to be enough and we want to achieve all we want TOO FAST and TOO QUICKLY.

And then there are days when we sit back and think- What the fuck are we doing with ourselves. For a large number of people that happens when they have reached a certain level in life – financially, personally, professionally. I guess the Maslow’s hierarchy of needs hold true in 80% of the cases.

Maslow's Hierarchy of Need

Maslow

Tell me ( and this is there for most of us, not all), do you remember your childhood. The stuff you talked about doing, what you wanted to be when you grew up, things you wanted to do-how many have been possible. Are we today what we thought we would be when we were kids? Are we conditioned by society? And we thought this we would never happen to us.:-p

We keep waiting for our ‘BIG’ chance when we would rock the world and make a big difference in some of the social issues in the world- starting from terrorism, poverty, global warming, war, children education, in all safer lives. Why do we make these big plans. Its important-great, keep the vision. But where are the baby steps? If we did small stuff, things that would only make a difference to one person only/ or has very low impact at a small level. We would feel better about life and ourselves. If there are hundreds of people making a small difference in some issue which they are concerned about, imagine the impact. And who knows when this small thing becomes BIG and consumes you.

Small Steps

Small Steps

It’s better than just thinking about making a ‘BIG’ difference and eventually doing nothing. Times flies….. we don’t even know how and when things and situations change. It’s best to do what u can NOW!!! and keep doing as and when U FEEL LIKE IT .

Awesome info! I was honestly just thinking about something similar to this the other day so, it was almost “weird” when I ran across this. You would be surprised how many people simply have no idea when it comes to this kind of stuff. Anyway, thanks for getting this info out there and I’m sure I’m not the only one who appreciates you taking the time to post this for the masses.
